Plassey Wreck - 40x50cm

Photography print of the Plassey Wreck on Inis Oirr Island off the west coast of County Clare, Ireland. 
 
The Plassey was a steam freighter, carrying a varied load of yarn, stained glass, and whisky when it succumbed to a storm in the 1960’s. The 600-tonne ship was caught in terrible Atlantic weather, when it collided with Finnis Rock and was eventually thrown onto rocks at the eastern edge of Inis Oírr by the strong winds. Today it is a popular tourist spot on the island having featured in the opening credits of the renowned tv show, Father Ted.
