"Not a tree whereon to hang a man; no water in which to drown him; no soil in which to bury him". Ceann Boirne (Burren Head) is located at the most northly tip of County Clare. On it sits Black Head Lighthouse. Built in 1935 to serve the American ocean liners visiting Galway Bay that would anchor off Ballyvaughan. The light was first established in 1936 and continues to shine today guiding seafarers into Galway Bay.
